Crafted from premium Tange Prestige heat-treated double-butted chromoly steel, this frameset combines classic craftsmanship with modern engineering to deliver a versatile, high-performance road bike foundation.

Materials & Construction

Built with oversized, thin-wall Tange Prestige chromoly tubing, the Soma Smoothie HP offers increased stiffness and durability. The heat-treatment process enhances steel longevity and resilience, ensuring a lightweight yet robust frame. Its ovalized top tube provides superior lateral stiffness for crisp handling, while vertical compliance ensures a smooth ride over varying road surfaces. Size-specific tubing, including larger diameter downtubes on bigger sizes, optimizes power transfer and ride comfort.

Performance & Engineering

Featuring a modern compact geometry, the frameset balances a higher stack for comfortable riding positions with a shorter wheelbase that rewards agility and skillful handling. The re-designed profile enhances stability at high speeds and precision during technical descents. Equipped with replaceable modular dropouts (12 x 142mm bolt-on thru-axle compatible with flat mount disc brakes), this bike can accommodate various drivetrain setups and wheel configurations for versatile riding styles.

Components & Technology

The Soma Smoothie HP incorporates advanced features including internal cable routing for a clean aesthetic, Tapered alloy steerer fork with a 43mm rake (48mm on size 48 and 52cm), and a carbon fiber fork for lightweight strength and vibration dampening. It supports up to 700x32c tires with fenders, making it ideal for commuting, endurance rides, or gravel-road adventures. Additional features include dual water bottle mounts, rear rack and fender mounts, and a BSA threaded bottom bracket shell for ease of maintenance.
