Materials & Construction

Made from premium TIG-welded Chromoly steel, the Surly Ogre Frameset offers exceptional durability and ride quality. The E.D. coating enhances corrosion resistance for increased lifespan, making it ideal for all-weather conditions and extended off-road excursions.

Performance & Engineering

The Ogre features a thoughtful non-suspension corrected geometry optimized for stability and control across diverse terrains. Horizontal slotted dropouts with Gnot-Boost spacing provide flexibility in wheel setup, accommodating 135mm QR hubs, 142x12mm thru-axles, or 148x12mm Boost hubs. Full-length Surly Trip Guide housing ensures smooth shifting and braking performance, while threaded eyelets and mounts support fenders, racks, and Surly trailer options to customize your ride.

Designed exclusively for disc brake systems, the frameset includes 51mm IS disc mounts with a rear rotor limit of 160mm. The large tire clearance-up to 29 x 2.5″ or 27.5 x 3″-allows you to optimize traction and comfort for everything from daily commuting to aggressive trail riding. Compatibility with Rohloff and other drivetrain systems is accommodated through dedicated mounting slots and options.
